What the section holds
Only four subsections but sixteen pages: the basic heat-transfer rate equations, then conduction, then convection with its correlation and heat exchanger material, then radiation.
Why it matters for your exam
Examined on Chemical and Mechanical specifications directly, and combined with thermodynamics on the Other Disciplines specification. The heat exchanger material inside convection is where chemical and mechanical candidates spend most of their time here.
How to navigate it
Because there are only four subsections, the internal order is easy to memorise and the section is quick to navigate once entered. Convection is by far the largest of the four and holds the log mean temperature difference material.
