What the section holds
A long section that grew substantially in the tenth edition. It covers definitions of safety and the hierarchy of prevention, hazard assessment including flammability and chemical compatibility material, risk assessment and toxicology with the standard dose-response measures, ergonomics, noise pollution, and the permissible noise exposure limits published by OSHA.
Why it matters for your exam
Safety is examined explicitly on the Chemical and Other Disciplines specifications and shows up inside environmental and industrial questions elsewhere. It is also physically large, which makes it slow to search if you do not already know its internal order.
How to navigate it
Fix the ordering in your head: definitions and prevention first, hazard assessment next and by far the longest, then toxicology, then the human-factors material at the end. Noise exposure limits are the last thing in the section, not the first.
